TRINAMIC's PD-1378 closed-loop stepper drive is part of the PANdrive™ line. A complete mechatronic solution with 12 VDC to 48 VDC and 9 ARMS current per motor phase, the easy-to-use PANdrive is controlled via CAN bus interface and uses the CANopen or TMCL protocol.
Offered in the NEMA23, NEMA24, and NEMA34 flange-sizes, the closed-loop smart stepper motor delivers the efficiency of a servo drive while offering considerably more torque than servo motors of comparable size at low speeds. This makes them ideal for automation across industries where requirements regulating energy efficiency, size, cost, and noise are increasingly stricter. With 55 Ncm to 700 Ncm holding torque, the plug-and-play solution fits applications for lab automation, manufacturing, robotics, factory automation, and CNCs.
At the center of the product is the company’s own TMC5160 driver combined with the TMC4361 servo-controller IC, transforming digital information into perfect physical motion. Besides TRINAMIC's popular features such as increased energy-efficiency and quiet operation, the PD-1378 also offers advanced velocity control with SixPoint™ and S-shaped ramping profiles.
Engineers can program the smart stepper motor with TRINAMIC's motion control language (TMCL), using the free and easy-to-use GUI, or with CANopen. The PD57/60/86-x-1378 is offered in different lengths and flange-sizes for ideal compatibility with various use cases.
